GALE FORCE PETROLEUM ANNOUNCES CHANGE TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Montreal, April 8, 2009 – Gale Force Petroleum Inc. (TSX Venture: GFP, the “Corporation”) today announced that Mr. Jocelyn Boucher has stepped down from the board of directors, effective immediately. On an interim basis, Mr. Michael McLellan has been nominated to succeed Mr. Boucher as Chairman of the Board of Directors.



“On behalf of the board of directors, I thank Jocelyn for his service, in particular helping the Corporation face numerous difficult challenges over the past two years stemming from the restructuring of the Corporation, and more recently from the effects of the economic and market downturn”, said Michael McLellan, President and CEO.



As part of its restructuring plan, the Corporation is seeking new financing and further business development opportunities. If new financing is raised, the Corporation expects that new directors will be nominated at that time. Further details will be announced when available.
